Love Yeovil was set up as the marketing 'arm' of the Yeovil Chamber of Trade to support, promote and increase the footfall in the town center.

Initially ran by the stakeholders taking time from their day job, the need grew for a full time, focused individual to take over the reins and move the organisation forward.

I was contracted in 2019 to take over the running of Love Yeovil and support the town center businesses with events as well as organsing and staging the annual Christmas Light Switch on event.

Along with the big Switch On, I helped with Super Saturday, the town centre's annual event, with booking some acts and funding parts of the entertainment from the Love Yeovil budget.

Much of the first year at Love Yeovil was spent networking with various business's and organisations within Yeovil, to coordinate a more joined up way of thinking. Linking like minded parties with each other and to get them talking to each other.

I am now working on formalising the legal structure of Love Yeovil with the support of the Board and securing the long term future and sustainability of the group.

This role is 18 hours per week and my role ranges from marketing to event organising, networking, arranging meetings, managing stakeholders and budgeting.
